Meet Cody

Cody Armstrong Pierce has 20 years of experience in the horse industry. She grew up on her family farm in Virginia, which specializes in starting young horses and retraining problem horses. Having both parents as professional equestrians, she had plenty of years of experience from equine management to training and teaching all types of horses and people. She has ridden western and English her entire life. Cody has traveled around gathering information from other top trainers. She managed and trained out of Oak Meadows Farm in Edgemoor, SC with head trainer Christopher Hickey. She was also the manager and assistant trainer at Flanagan Stables in Christiansburg, VA from 2012-2016; where she coached the Virginia Tech Dressage Team to a National Reserve Championship. In 2023 Cody and her husband, Alex decided to move back to the family farm and start their training business there.

Cody has earned her USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals as well as the USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Freestyle Bars. She has qualified for US Finals every year and was successful in Kentucky as a rider and a coach to her students, one of whom won the US Finals National Champion First Level musical freestyle as an adult amateur in 2017.

At the age of ten, Cody started her career in 3-day eventing and started young horses with her father. She now specializes in Dressage while bringing young horses up the levels. She is committed to a strong foundation of basics in every horse and rider with a natural horsemanship background.

A passion for horses

“Is a family affair.”

Cody and Alex now live on the family farm in Virginia with their two children. Alex is a former roper who specializes in starting young horses and training ranch horses. Alex and Cody work closely together in their horse training and feel that having english and western training views combined can produce the very best horses in both disciplines!
